Not Always Good to Read Between the Lines- Psalm 20

When I first read through this psalm, my instinct said that the prosperity gospel types probably misquote this one all the time. When I read through it a second time, the insight I got is what follows, and once I read through a commentary, I found out I was completely off! That's why this blog post is titled this way. Anyway, here's what I got, and then what the commentator said:

v. 1-5: A prayer of blessing over someone else (wedding?) v. 6-9: a prayer for the king.

Actually a prayer for when David was going off to battle one of the many invading nations surrounding Israel.
