A Year Through God's Eyes

A song with three verses? How original! Actually, up until this point in this book for me, it is pretty original. It's verses even tell a story of sorts and here's how I see it:

Verse 1 (v.1-2): The whole Earth and everything in it belong to God. Why? Because He made it all. The second part of verse one might be used as an argument against predestination, but that's a large ball of yarn to unwind and for people smarter than I. I just know that it says every one and thing on the Earth belong to God because He made it all.

Verse 2 (v.3-6): If there is a God like this, how can we enter into a relationship with Him? All you have to do to approach Him is to follow a few simple, minor steps: have hands and hearts that are pure (not stained with sin), don't worship idols (things which are created instead of the Creator), and don't tell lies (don't be false in any part of your character. Be the exact same person in private as in public). These are the ones who get to have relationship with the one true God. Don't be discouraged, this is only verse 2! It's like Empire Strikes Back, it's going to get better because we have God's secret plan in verse 3.

Verse 3 (v.7-10): Let the King of Glory ascend the mountain and open the gates of relationship (for all of us). He's the only one who fits these requirements. Who is this King? (Because we look around and even our best people, the ones we look up to seem to fall the hardest: Tiger, Swaggert and Bakker, Downey Jr., Brittney) Oh, it's the Lord, and by the way He's strong enough and mighty enough for all of you (All of You is more than enough for all of me. His name is Jesus). Well then, let's open up these floodgates that all may go in (Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the Earth hear His voice!) By the way, this is also still the God of Psalm 18 with the whole fire and devouring part with a posse of angels at His disposal (so don't forget to respect, revere, fear Him, and worship Him alone as God!)
