Psalm 7

So often when we look at the Psalms, it is easy to forget that David wasn't only a great song writer and musician, but he was also a warrior. Psalm 7 looks on God in this light. I think it's also easy to forget when we look at the splendor of God's majestic creations that God is also a warrior. That is why He is our refuge and strong tower, because he is a mighty warrior who fights for those who are righteous in His sight. This psalm is still working through David's thoughts on his son's takeover, and I'll be glad when we're on to other topics, but it's good to be reminded of how dangerous God really is. In our society today, with Christianity the way that it is and is perceived, it's easy to forget how terribly righteous God's anger is. That's what makes the grace of the cross so much more significant.
PRAYERS:
***That I would continually put to death the sin in my life.
***All the others listed above.
***A fight against laziness and ambivalence.
